A process through which clients work with a therapist in a safe, caring, & confidential environment to explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging/influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves & others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.
A client and therapist may work together for as few as 5 or 6 sessions or for several years, depending on the client’s unique needs/personal goals.
Social skills are an important component of daily life that directly influences interactions with others. Our social skills groups demonstrate these skills in a fun and friendly environment. Social skills groups are different than a traditional play-date or peer-based hangout – they are a supervised therapeutic event where the goal is to help children and adolescents gain skills in social interaction.
